1. Find out if you Qualify
Per Amendment 2, there are 10 qualifying conditions for Florida residents seeking access the medical marijuana.
- Cancer
- Epilepsy
- Glaucoma
- HIV
- AIDS
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- Crohn’s disease
- Parkinson’s disease
- Multiple sclerosis
In order to qualify for a medical marijuana prescription in Florida, patients must have tried traditional treatment methods with supporting documentation. Additionally, you must be a Florida resident to qualify.
2. Find a Physician
Physicians qualified to prescribe cannabis can be found on the Office of Compassionate Use site. First, the physician will review your medical history. If the physician determines that previous treatment options failed to address the ailment, they can prescribe medical marijuana. Once approved, your registration with the Compassionate Use Registry is complete and a medical marijuana card will arrive in the mail.
3. Fill your Prescription
There are numerous facilities currently licensed to cultivate and dispense medical marijuana in Florida. Most locations are verifying patients and taking orders over the phone with a few offering online ordering.
