Growers & Processors Transport Dispensary Research & Development

Grower (also commonly referred to as Producers or Cultivators) – Cultivators are responsible for growing cannabis. Mature plants are harvested and transferred to a Processor.

Processors – Processors take harvested cannabis from Cultivators and create derivative extracts for edibles, concentrates, topicals, and prepacks. Finished products are transported to Dispensaries.

Jamaica Cultivation Licenses

Tier 1

  • Cultivate up to 1 acre (4,047 square meters)
  • $2,000 application fee
  • $4,000 security bond

Tier 2

  • Cultivate between 1 and 5 acres (4,047 – 20, 235 square meters)
  • $2,500 per acre application fee
  • $3,000 per acre security bond

Tier 3

  • Cultivate over 5 acres (20,235 square meters)
  • $3,000 per acre application fee
  • $3,000 per acre security bond

  • Process cannabis in a space up to 200 square meters
  • $3,500 application fee
  • $3,000 security bond

Tier 2

  • Process cannabis in a space over 200 square meters
  • $10,000 application fee
  • $3,000 security bond

What kind of tracking system do I need to operate a Processing Facility?

Transport license- Transport cannabis between two licensed premises in an approved motor vehicle.

  • $10,000 application fee for first vehicle
  • $1,000 application fee for each additional vehicle

Retail licenses sell legal cannabis, and cannabis products, to responsible adults in compliance with local regulations.

Pharmacy or Dispensary

  • Sell cannabis products for medical, scientific and therapeutic purposes
  • $2,500 application fee

Herb House

  • Sell cannabis products for medical, scientific and therapeutic purposes, with a space for immediate consumption by consumers
  • $2,500 application fee

Therapeutic

  • Provide therapeutic or spa services utilizing cannabis products
  • $2,500 application fee

What kind of point-of-sale do I need to operate a Dispensary?

Most jurisdictions require dispensaries to track and trace all of their cannabis-related products for regulatory and compliance reporting requirements. Experimental

  • Undertakes all activities involved in the assessment, study, research, development and testing of products derived from all or any part of the cannabis plant, including the analytical services for own use
  • $5,000 application fee
  • $3,000 security bond

Analytical Services

  • Provide commercial services exclusively for the determination of any or all of the constituents, characteristics, quality or safety parameters of cannabis or cannabis products by accepted and/or accredited methods
  • $5,000 application fee
  • $3,000 security bond
